Brief was to provide large, new build family house on attractive wide plot for private client.
Existing house is located on plot is the current residence of the client. House was demolished at outset and family moved into temporary accommodation for duration of building work.
At design stage the client had strong feeling about how the new house should address the garden areas having lived on the site for around 5 years. They also were anxious to have a Art Deco appearance and feel.
Provided 3no completely different options (see below) before alighting on the agreed design stategy.
Client called for the house to address the garden at the side rather than a more typical wide road frontage. This meant still having that entrance elevation on the road side but the main elevation addessed the garden at the side.
